Long have I resisted, long have I clinged on to the statement that I don’t need a Facebook account, that I am social enough in other ways. Also, many of my friends are also on Helgon.net, where I have been a member since 2002.
But it feels like everyone has a Facebook account these days. And apparently a lot of party invitations and just plain contact-keeping is swarming around there. More so than on Helgon, which is becoming more and more stale.
On the back side of the coin, I tend to get addicted to these kind of things. And I don’t want to feel the need to check it several times every day. Especially not at work.
Help me out here, vote in the poll and tell me what you think I should do.
Poll: Should I get a Facebook account?
Yes, and I want to be your friend there! (60%, 9 Votes)
No (33%, 5 Votes)
Yes, but I don't want to be your friend there... (7%, 1 Votes)
Edit 3: Seems that there were conflicts with having multiple domain names using the same IP, which confused the poll code. Or something like that. I have changed the DNS settings for frankjohansson.se and killersnail.com to forward to frankjohansson.com. This should also help my google rank a bit. Anyway, poll should be working now.
Call me sexist or whatever, but I found the following flowcharts (originally found on Gizmodo.com) very funny, and I think they held a great deal of truth. What do you think?
By the way, I am starting to have regrets about my New Year’s resolution. The nicotine abstinence I can handle (although I eat a lot more), but I so want to go out and party (in an alcohol-intoxicated state)! I will at least try to stay sober until my 30:th birthday (3 more months), but we’ll see how it goes.
Last year my new year’s resolution was to not eat candy or drink soda for a year (with the exception for when being abroad). I kept it. 🙂
This year it is to not use tobacco or drink alcohol for a year (with the same exception as last year). I will still go out and everything, but try to stay more healthy. And sober. Plus, I need to save as much money as possible for the scheduled tattoos and travels.
I got home from Åre last night, where I’ve been since Thursday on a conference with my job.
Since around Tuesday my throat has been feeling a bit sore, getting worse and worse.
On Thursday, I started coughing.
On Saturday afternoon, I was beginning to become hard to speak. That night I also woke up and felt feverish, taking hours before i could get back to sleep.
On Sunday morning, I couldn’t get a word out. Later in the afternoon I could half-whisper and speak in a low, broken voice.
This morning I couldn’t make a sound. Just whispering hurts, so I have to communicate in other ways. Coughing is a real pain, and I do it a lot. But as long as I don’t move, it is easier. So I plan to stay in bed all day. Lucky for me, I have my Eee 1000H so I don’t bore to death. Perfect time to watch a bunch of movies just waiting for me! (I currently have around 90 unseen movies on the netbook)
For the last two months, I’ve been on a diet consisting mainly of Nutrilett and Naturdiet based shakes and Varma Koppen soups. It is a type of diet called VLCD, or Very Low Calery Diet. The fundamental idea is to eat less calories than your body consumes (like most diets). You are supposed to drink about six shakes a day (a powder that you mix with water yourself), but I have not been a rigid follower of the rules. About half of the time I have been eating some solid food after work, mainly drinking the shakes and soups up until 5PM.
Results are in: Minus 10 kilos in weight and minus 5 cm around the waist.
The longer I have been on the diet, the slower the weight loss. On the other hand, I have probably been eating (and drinking) a bit more in the last month as well.
I am dead tired of the shakes, so I will now have a week eating only solid food before continuing substituting some of my meals with shakes again. I still have a bit more to go.
Also, next year I will get back to training Kung Fu, and swim a bit more.
